I'd like to use an AMD FX-8320 with a GA-990FXA-UD5
The motherboard page says,
To enable AM3+ AMD FX-Series CPU support, please update your motherboard with the most current BIOS found in your motherboard’s download section.
Would I need a fully supported CPU to be able to update the BIOS or would the FX-8320 work "enough" to get in and flash it.
All I seem to be able to find in the uk is REV 1.0

You can ask the shop/retailer to update the bios to F10 if needed - talk to them!

Yes that cpu will boot no problem to the bios . I have the same cpu and board , worked perfict out of the box. .. :)

SuperFUBAR: You are correct if the board is a Revision 3.0. If it is a 1.x like mine you need Bios F10 to run the 8320.
