Hi,
I have an X58 USB3 and using Windows 7 64 bit.
I have two Codemeter USB dongles and the system will not booth with either of them inserted. Other USB devices are fine.
The boot up stalls at "Verifying DMI data pool".
If I remove the dongles booth up continues successfully.
Under BIOS settings I have one of my hard drives set as the first booth device.
I know I can remove and re insert these dongles every time, but its a pain as they are at the back of the pc and not easily reached.
Is there any way to get the BIOS to ignore the dongles on booth up?
Thanks
Derm

Integrated Peripherals
USB Storage Function
Determines whether to detect USB storage devices, including USB flashdrives and USB harddrives during the POST. (Default: Enabled)
Try and disable that and see what happens. I don't know that will disable it in windows or just a bootup.

Thanks dmdilks,
That wasn't it but I did find a solution whilst looking around in the Advanced BIOS settings.
Although HD was selected at the top of the boot order, it wasn't the first boot device in the advanced bios so I cautiously made some changes there to remove USB as the second and third boot devices, leaving HD and CD rom as one and two.
The system then booted correctly with the WIBU key inserted.
