Title: New Build
Post by: Dirtnapper on February 13, 2014, 12:05:02 am
I got my new Z87X UD5H today. The BIOS is F5, I see there is a newer one, F8. I downloaded to a flash drive. I am not able to extract it, I tried using Universal extractor. If I just click it on the usb drive, nothing also.  If I try just pointing to the file as it in Q it wont update; not correct size?? What am I missing? I ws hoping to at least get this part done and then go on to install OS.  Thanks.

Must extract with 7-zip......(WinZip or Rar).

It it a self extracting file just click on it. You don't need a  extractor program. I have never used a extractor on any of those bios updates.

It must have been a bogus download, I tried about 9 times on the US board; the Europe board not an issue. I went back and tried the US board, and it finally came down and extracted without any issues.  BIOS updated fine.  Thanks!
