Its been two months now that i m facing this annoying issue.
I have 1 primary SSD (win7 64) and 4 HDDs (1 of 3TB, 2 of 2TB, and 1 1,5TB) attached to a GA-Z77X-D3H) for photo, music, games, etc.
When i open my pc everything seems to be Ok. All the hhds are present. While im listening to music, surfing or playing skyrim, a windows
notification sounds, and all 3 hdds disappear, except the ssd and the 3tb (a seagate). The message on my screen saying that windows detected
a hard disk problem and need to back up NOW. When i restart pc, Hdds are present, but not everyone. Sometimes the 1.5TB is missing or the two 2TB are missing. I ve changed cables, sata positions, to no avail. They keep disappearing. Please HELP!

This is usually a symptom of an underated or failing power supply.
Swapping out the power supply for a decent 700W plus would be my first choice........

Oh and to check what PSU rating you need there are plenty of on line tools ....for example

Thanks for the reply, cjapeterborough.
My PSU is 1000w, and i believe there's no problem with it. I have a spare 750w PSU and i ll give it a go.
Thanks again.
