Title: GA-970A-DS3 - USB 3.0 Ports not working
Post by: jeppeman3 on March 17, 2014, 11:23:36 am
Hello.

It appears as if all my usb 3.0 ports are disabled. I checked in the BIOS and it said that the usb 3.0 controller was enabled.
I went into devmgmt.msc and found that the usb 3.0 ports were unable to start. So I then did som searching on google and tried uninstalling all the controllers and the rebooting the computer. Now the ports were nowhere to be found.
I tried reinstalling the controllers drivers, unisnstalling all drivers, rebooting the computer without any luck.
Is there something I'm missing here?

It s the normal behavior of the Etron controllers unfortunately.

It may be needed to reinstall Windows from scratch to make them work properly ,but they may still behave erratically even then

Sometimes updating some drivers (video drivers)  (or simply installing Windows updates) makes this Etron drivers to behave
It may be related to the Etron controller firmware as well ,which Gigabyte rarely updates in BIOS .
Had such issues with my 970A-UD3 when i owned one.

If after Windows reinstall they still behave  ,then maybe you should RMA the board.
Otherwise keep them off in BIOS.
