I have used this newly bought but used motherboard with practically no issues with 2x2Gb 1333 ADATA memory modules for half a year. The OS is Windows 8.1.
Bought 4x2 Gb 1333 Samsung modules: Shutdown and automatic restart after one or two minutes.
Tried 2x2Gb Samsung modules. Worked fine.
Bought 4x2Gb 1333 Hynix modules: First 3 hours without issues. After restart shutdown and automatic restart just as with the Samsung memory modules. When I remove 2 memory modules and run only 2x2Gb modules there are no problems.
Is this a setup problem? Or is the BIOS not capable of handling 8 GB on Windows 8.1? Is there a solution as I want to use 8Gb of memory.

Have you tried running Memtest? Try it on the modules that are giving you trouble.
It might be bad ram.

What BIOS version are you running?

POST tells me it is v.6 00 PG / BIOS FO GA-870A-UD3 FEe
I don't find anyone newer than 2011 on support pages.

Thank you for input.
Since the modules work in 2x2Gb configuration and both brands act the same, do you think it still can be on or two of the modules that are bad? I suppose they don't work in 4Gb config either if they have faults?
I don't know memtest. Where do I find it?

Just up memory voltage to 1.6v when filling up all memory slots.

Followed your advice - up voltage to 1,6. Worse - didn't even restart but got hung in black screen with CPU and harddisk struggling for better days. :-\
Thanks anyway.
