Title: GA-H81N - USB 3.0 PCIEx1 Expansion card - computer will not start
Post by: skibum on April 23, 2014, 11:49:45 am
Hello,

I have a GA-H81N mini-itx motherboard that has one PCIE x16 slot.

When I plug the PCIE x1 USB 3.0 expansion card into the PCIE x16 slot the computer will not turn on.  I do not even get to BIOS.

I have tried this expansion card in another computer (that has a PCIE x1 slot) and it works perfectly.

I have spent HOURS playing around with BIOS settings.  Gotten no where...

HELP!

On all boards if you are using on-board or CPU video. The on-board or CPU video and the PCIe slot is also set to boot as first video.

They both both boot as first video by default. Try making the on-board video first boot and change the PCIe not be the first boot.

Thanks, tried that.  Did not help.
