Title: Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 - Help enabling UEFI Bios
Post by: ross1204 on May 01, 2014, 01:00:19 am
Hi,

I have just recently assembled the new gaming PC and am currently trying to install windows 8 booting in UEFI.

What settings are needed to be changed in the bios to enable UEFI booting?

When booting up the computer and entering the bios settings I can see the SSD, HDD and optical drive in the boot sequence section but they don't have UEFI indication over them. I have also created a boot-able Windows 8 USB drive but when connected and and turned on I can see the USB in the boot menu but again it doesn't show UEFI in front or after so can not use UEFI..

I take it UEFI isn't enabled?

I understand some feel there is not much point to use UEFI but as I haven't even got the option to try and use it I am kinda worried that something isn't quite right?

Any ideas will be much appreciated?

Thanks

I know this is an old post  ;)

To boot with a bootable windows ISO the USB drive must be formated in GPT (not with MBR).
