Title: Windows 7 Home Premium and BSOD!
Post by: ahankiewicz on May 04, 2014, 12:53:23 pm
Problem to install Windows 7 Home Premium, I have a GA-MA74GH-S2H motherboard OS is installed but as soon as you try to load updates especially SP1 it fails with a BSOD 0x000000124!

Any ideas?

What is the rest of the configuration ?!

Maybe you should disable the advanced power management options for the CPU in BIOS like C1E ,C6 ,Turbo Boost ,APM ,CnQ before updating.
Do check the RAM as well with Memtest for 6 hours and see what happens.

Why not try Microsoft sysinternals 'bluescreen view' this app will show you the faulting app or driver. BSOD are usually caused by driver issue or malware running as a driver/service.

Just install Win7 SP1 (integrated - iso is on the internet) hence avoid SP1 as separate update and it usually should work fine
