Title: Cold bootup - Takes 3 attempts - Any ideas?
Post by: gizbug on May 19, 2014, 02:35:59 am
When I turn my system completely off, and then turn it on, sometimes it takes 3 times before it boots into windows.
The first time, it turns on, screens blank, for about 10 seconds, then the system shuts off, turns back on after 3 seconds, same thing, 3rd time usually goes normally into windows. Any ideas what could be causing this?
If I just reboot my pc in windows 8, this does NOT happen.

Has it always done it or just started? One thing and this might not have anything to do with it. But that CPU doesn't support 3.0 cards.

When you are in a boot cycle like that it is more the CPU causing the problem. If it had something to do with the memory you would get a error.

That the computer was maybe over clock and you have to enter the bios to set default settings.
