Hi all,
First I would like to apologize for my poor english, I'm not living in an english speaking country.
I bought a motherboard Gigabyte H87M D3H and the new Intel I5 4690 Haswell Refresh.
Gigabyte announces the compatibility of the motherboard with I5 4690 but with BIOS F9 issue.
This release is dated from 2014.02.05;
I guess the motherboard do not have its bios updated or I am mistaken?
I've searched on the motherboard and in the user's manuel, I found nothing on the loaded bios issue number!
(I think I will know when I run the motherboard)
As a precaution I have downloaded the new F9 BIOS is an usb flash drive.
Gigabyte shows the procedure for updating the BIOS using Q-Flash using an usb flash drive.
Could I update the bios with the processor plugged ? Is there any risk for the processor ?
or should I do it before mounting the processor?
In advance thank you for your feedback and advices.
Sincerely.

You will have to have the processor plugged in as you say and also the memory and so forth for the bios to come up. Insert the usb drive with bios on it and have it boot from usb. It should then update bios and reboot.

Thanks again autotech,
I followed your procedure.
I have updated with the new F9. No major problem. Just it takes rather a long time.
