Hello to all. Sorry for my english .... I hope to make me understand
I have a problem with the controller Etron USB 3.0, which is as slow as the 2.0
I have a usb 3.0 card Kingston, that transfer files on a laptop with a transfer rate 40 kb / s
With my pc should not be more than 9-10 kb / s. I have installed the latest drivers of Etron (0119)
S.O.: Windows 8.1
hardware:
AMD Phenom II X4
MB Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 http://it.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-990xa-ud3rev_30/download/
Bios version: FD (latest)
Hd 120 GB SSD Kingston
HD2 WD 1TB SATA3
PS: in the bios the USB 3.0 controller is "Enable"
Any idea? thanks in advance ..............
I'm very sad >:(

Etron has had trouble with their driver for over a year what is happening to you happens to many other with no way to fix it yet. sooner or later I hope for a driver update or bios update to fix this.

That's incredible.......
So, Gigabyte What say about this?
In fact, it is "Gigabyte" which sells motherboards saying "usb 3.0 available"
It only happens with windows 8? or with all the S.o.?
Because in this case we are in the area of fraud are damaging to customers .........

Just keep in mind you can't transfer files faster than the slowest devices can handle in that transfer - there is certainly something wrong at your end coz I can transfer ~200MB/s between (usb3 Seagate desktop expansion - Etron v119)
Depending on which laptop you have I would post in their manufacturer forum about this issue

I'm sorry, but you did not understand.
About my asus laptop I'm satisfied. 40-50 kb / s on a usb key are ok.
The problem is with my PC with motherboard gigabyte and card Etron .......... 8-10 kb / s are the same as USB 2.0, so it seems obvious to me that something goes wrong and 3.0 gigabytes promise, but sell 2.0 ...........

...
Umm, nope, usb2 does transfer around 30MB/s (hdd) and an usb2 ram stick should give you ~10MB/s while usb3 up to 600MB/s (I saw 480MB/s max) - sounds to me no matter how you look at it something is very wrong there.
-
in fact, i speak about a usb3 ram stick...... that goes like a usb2, in the pc with gigabyte........

driver 119 is NOT the correct driver for the Elton EJ168 USB 3.0 Chip that is on YOUR motherboard.
The Elton and Gigabyte Websites both show the 1.0.0.118 (Jan. 9, 2014) is the latest driver for your USB 3.0 chip.

I've try 118 too............
same problem
;)

now I see a particular situation:
copy from usb card TO pc -----> 70/80kb/S
copy from PC TO usb card -----> 9 / 10 kb/S
that's incredible...............

Etron has a version 0119 but it may be a test build. I know it says WHQL but I believe it's a test build. Use at your own risk.

I checked the download is clean.

Buy a FM2/+ board with A75 or higher AMD chipset and enjoy USB 3.0 speeds out of the box :)
Or find a board that uses an Asmedia USB 3.0 chipset and you will have USB 3.0 speeds.
Etron controllers are simply crap ,a lot of compatibility issues and lack of support on both firmware and driver support.
