Title: GA-F2A55M-HD2 Rev.3.0 CPU Temps
Post by: AMOCO on June 18, 2014, 10:41:35 pm
GA-F2A55M-HD2 Rev.3.0 & AMD A6-6400K,
I bought this as a combo @ Micro Center and I noticed that the Original CPU Cooler was junk.So I bought a Cooler Master Hyper T4 to replace it.And now I can't get the Side panel back on(HP Mid tower case). It's getting replaced next week anyway.
But,Back to my problem.
The new cooler did lower the CPU temp(Reading in the BIOS),
But,I still can't find a software that gives me an accurate temp reading.
Tried Core Temp (Reads 0c)
HWMonitor reads high
AMD Overdrive reads high
SpeedFan reads GPU Only
EasyTune6 won't install;;;;Error :1324

Any suggestions on a temp software?Or does this motherboard have bad sensors?

AMD motherboards are like that unless you are having a problem with shutting down, blue screens or so on don't worry about it. I have more bad readings from easytune than good. Get a 14. laser temp gun I have one and it works wonders. something like the following link.

I've had AMD motherboards before and none of them did this:
So if a laser temp gun is the only way to go here,We have a Harbor Freight up the street. And I can get a cheap one there.

on my ga890 I have never got easy tune to work. Harbor freight is awesome.

GA-F2A55M-HD2 Rev.3.0 & AMD A6-6400K,

The new cooler did lower the CPU temp(Reading in the BIOS),

You never said what the temp is? If the temp are on a FM2 board are between 30c to 40c you should be fine. Plus how much paste did you put on?

I only put enough to fill in the cracks of the metal. If you put to much you will not get a good metal to metal contact.

You can try CPU-Z software too.

It was running @ 50c(In the BIOS With stock cooler)
And with the new cooler40c (In the BIOS With the CM T4 cooler)
Also using Antec Formula 7 Nano Diamond thermal compound

That is about right on the temps. I have found that most of the FM2 CPU's do run a little hotter than any other CPU.

Again just make sure you don't have to much paste. I go to Radio shack and get my heat sink paste white.

The paste is only used to fill in the cracks of the metal.

FM2/+ take 75 Celsius just fine as they also have a GPU.
If you are using the default CPU cooler add a fan on the side or/and on the back to help it with fresh air.
Use the side one as intake or outake depending of what temp you get.

My 5300 stays in my HTPC/routing box at 40-50 Celsius with the default cooler.

There is also the case when the cooler does not touch properly the middle of the APU heatsink ,sometimes the edges are more extruded than the middle of the APU.Use as less thermal as you can.Arctic ceramique should be good enough for that APU ,easy to clean and reapply.

Do not use Easy tune!

Well I'm buying this case Wednesday:

And like I said I have a CM Hyper T4 Cooler
I noticed that in the bios temps are lower like 10 degrees from HWMonitor readings
75c is good to know,Because I do want to overclock it a little bit.

Now I got the new case & another 4gb. stick of ram.
Temps are like 31c in the BIOS now.
And a small little speaker came with the case. And I plugged it in the motherboard,Because in the BIOS I set the temp threshold @ 70c.Also I set the threshold alarm too(This is what the speaker is for).
