Title: gigabyte ga ex 58 a ud5 lan not working

hello, i am facing a problem of getting my hostel lan to work with my gigabyte 'ga ex 58 a ud5 '. It works with my laptop when connected as a homegroup and also with other laptops but if i connect my lan for internet it stops working. I am working on windows 8 everything is running smooth apart from this problem, i tried clearing the cmos/ reinstalling the drivers etc but nothing happened. Also the cable is fine as it works fine with my laptop... the local area connection is also missing in the adapter window, only two ethernet ports are showing.... i am confused please help!!! *please excuse my english*
