Alright so about a week ago I attempted to upgrade my audio drivers unsuccessfully resulting in me removing my CMOS battery in order to get the computer to start up. So this time around I made sure that my BIOS was updated (F18) before I installed the VIA Audio Drivers v11.0300c. However since I had originally reset my CMOS and even after finishing the upgrade whenever I attempt to use Vent I get the error:
Unable to activate DirectSound for selected device.
DirectSoundCaptureCreate failed. HR=DSERR_NODRIVER. No sound driver is available for use
Even though I had a microphone installed and using windows sound recorder have proven that it works. Can someone help me fix this issue?

What operating system are you using?
-
Windows 7 64-Bit

I know they work on XP I have never gotten them to work on windows 7 and when trying to get support for them I was told they do not support windows 7 officially.

So should I just get a sound card and use that? Or where can I get older audio drivers?
