Title: Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2PV
Post by: snag on August 19, 2014, 12:13:30 pm
Hi,

This question is regarding the 1 x 8-pin ATX 12V power connector.

Does this motherboard require an 8pin ATX power cable for the CPU, or can it handle a 4pin CPU cable (other micro-ATX motherboards can accept a 4pin 12v powerconnector in the 8-pin slot)?

I have a TFX power supply that only has a 4-pin 12V power connector and it currently does not work with this motherboard.

You should use a 8 pin cpu connector. Years ago you could use a 4 pin in a 8 pin socket but that hasn't been the case for a year or more.
