Title: Problem with Mushkin memories and Gigabyte motherboard
Post by: mbdude on March 12, 2010, 05:26:14 pm
Hello there,

I recently build a new PC (Phenom II X4, Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 motherboard, Mushkin "996677st" 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666 7-7-7-20 Blackline memories, ...) and I'm having a problem:
the memos aren't correctly recognized by the SPD feature in the mobo BIOS, since they're 7-7-7-20 (according to Mushkin) and recognized as 9-9-9-24.
Here are the photos:

How can I solve that?
Is it a Gigabyte problem or a Mushkin problem?
Should I change manually only the first 4 parameters to 7-7-7-20 ? And what about the other ones?

Thanks in advance

Hi there, you will have to manually set the CPU memory clock, timings and voltage in bios.

However, before you do, you might want to check out this item that I posted in another thread: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,1493.msg6828.html#msg6828
