Title: GA P55A UDP PCIe x16 x8 question.
Post by: JimK on March 12, 2010, 07:07:23 pm
The manual states:

The PCIEX8 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX16 slot. When the PCIEX8 slot is populated with a PCI Express graphics card, the PCIEX16 slot will operate at up to x8 mode.

I want to use a PCIe SSD in the PCIEX8 slot and the manual states "The PCIEX8 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX16 slot", is this only when PCIEX8 slot is populated with a PCI Express graphics card or do they mean any card in the PCIEX8 slot will share bandwidth PCIEX16 slot.

Thanks

Any card you put in the other blue slot will make both run at x8 mode.
