Title: Can't find driver for SM Bus!
Post by: fishfish on September 18, 2014, 01:33:41 pm
I have an old Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Pro motherboard and I've just installed windows 8.1 64 bit so I need a 64 bit driver for the SM Bus. All other drivers are available and working fine.

Can anyone point me to a 64 bit driver for the SM Bus as it doesn't appear to be available on the download pages?

Thanks.

This should help. nForce Driver Version 15.23 for Windows Vista 64bit.

Thanks pendaws.

I was hoping that would work but it didn't. I think it needs at least a windows 7 driver for it to be recognised by Windows 8.1. I'll keep looking if no-one else can come up with a suitable driver but I have a feeling there just isn't one available.

Have you tried the windows updates to see if it will find the driver. Here another site that might help.

Yes, thanks dmdilks, I actually found all those drivers on the nVidia website. The weird thing is that the sm bus driver does go through the install routine but it doesn't seem to actually register it for some reason and it still shows up as not installed in Device Manager.
