Title: GA-990fxa-UD3 rev. 1.1 & FX-8120
Post by: alucke on September 25, 2014, 12:37:19 am
In the bios, under PC health, I was checking the CPU temp.  The cpu was running a 54'C.  my room temp is 23'C.  I heard that the cpu temps should be between 45'C-50'C.  Is my cpu bad or should I check the Heatsink/fan?  Any input would be appreciated.

Are you using the stock heatsink that came with it? If so might want to look at an aftermarket cooler. 54 does seem a bit high. My 1090t runs at 31c and my i7 even lower.

I am using an aftermarket cooler.  The Zalman cooler I am using, was used with my Phenom x4 before I upgraded to the FX processor.  So maybe its time to replace the zalman cooler.

I am using a zalman 9500 for the past 4 CPU's and it hasn't failed. Fan still spins and it keeps it cool.

Welp I figured out what the problem was.  My cpu Heatsink/fan was starting to die.
