I just got back from a short holiday to find my PC won't boot. It powers on, then off, and continues to do this until you hold the power button.
Upon looking in the case I notice it appears my mobo is missing a capacitor, surely can't be the problem as the PC was working fine before and a cap would not just fall off while i'm away?
So could someone verify it is meant to be this way?
On the board it is labelled as EC34 and located just to the left of where it says ErP Ready.

Yes it looks that way. consider it verified.

Well I can't find the capacitor.. and no idea how it would have just fallen off?!

If you lost that cap then that might be the problem. I know some computer repair shop will fix that for you.
