Title: Ga-p55-usb3. No boot
Post by: Dunbarsoccer22 on October 09, 2014, 02:28:22 am
Hardware
i7-870
2x4gb OZC DDR3 1333 ram

My computer will not power up.  When it started, I would press the power button and the fans would power up, the phase LEDs would flash and then everything would shut down. Nothing would show up on the screen at all. I read around and it said to test the power supply, so I did and it works just fine.   After setting it aside for a few months while I moved, I tried powering it on again. And the phase LEDs flashed, but that was it. The lights were 1 - green, 2 - green, 3 - orange, 4 - red.  That was it. There were no other signs that there was any power getting to the motherboard. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does it power up and shut and does it do that in a loop. If it is doing it it could be a bent pin in the CPU socket or it could be bad CPU.

As far as I can tell it doesn't loop at all.  The phase lights flash once quickly and then nothing happens. I have taken the CPU out and nothing appears to be bent with the naked eye.   I was afraid it was probably the CPU or the motherboard, but without spares laying around, I am not sure how to test it. Any ideas?
