Title: GA-P55-UD4p Turbo Boost
Post by: CaptainSWJR on March 13, 2010, 06:50:47 pm
I just bought a UD4P board and an i5-750.

My understanding is that the Turbo Boost feature allows it to go up to a 24x Multiplier in single threaded apps.

CPU-Z is showing it at 21x multiplier. I've tried Prime95(one worker) and SuperPi  with the process set to a single core from Windows Task Manager. No dice, it's still 21x?

What am I missing? Why is the board limiting me to 21x?

When posting a random beep problem to Gigabyte (nothing they can do about it but the option is not that important) I said that by default Turbo Boost is not working the way it should due to one setting in the BIOS “C3/C6/C7 State Support” when set to Auto it locks all cores 1x up likely being to have a better OC, if set to Enable then Turbo Boost works the way it should.

Yup, that was the answer. Once I enabled that, everything was ducky.
