Title: Bios update z77-d3h / installing new graphics card
Post by: mmac900 on November 03, 2014, 06:12:31 pm
Hi all,

I am having trouble installing my new msi gtx 970 gaming. Whenever I plug it in, i get as far as the gigabyte motherboard screen. I have tried CMOS but that did nothing. I feel like my last option is to do a bios update, but all the bios updates I download say they are incompatible with 64 bit (i am running win 7). Does anyone know why or what I can do to get my new card working? Thanks in advance.

Leave card out and put the bios on a USB formatted fat32. Make sure you unzip it to your USB.  Restart and boot to bios and hit the key to update using Qflash which should be F8. Pick out the USB bios and hot ok do not turn off computer let it finish the restart. Now start computer make sure everything is ok then turn off install card and start.
