Hi, So recently i was installing a new cpu when i finished up and turned it all back on i noticed the ssd was unplugged (video working at this point) so i went back in to fix it turned it on again only to get no response from the computer. I took the battery out to reset bios with the video(970) not plugged in but ever since then i have not been able to get the video card to work in the x16 slot. I have it in the x4 slot now working just fine but rather slow.
Latest drivers and updates are installed for video and BIOS
BIOS setting are "init display first [PCIE x16]" and "Onboard VGA [enable if no peg]"
if I go into windows with onboard there is no 970 detected
and I have tried another card in the x16 slot it also does not work
I should also add that when i got the 970 i could only get it to work when it wasn't screwed in.
Thnx

Since you tried another card that narrows it down to the slot. Only thing I can think of to try is to disable onboard and make sure card is fully seated then turn it on and see if it works. If you have another cord to monitor you can try that. If it still doesn't work I would say slot is bad.
