Title: Gigabyte 970A-D3P rev 1.0 start up issue
Post by: Kuama on November 29, 2014, 03:18:16 am
I recently built a new computer using a gigabyte 970A-D3P revision 1. When i completed the build and started my computer the system takes about 8 seconds before my monitor receives an image. Then there is a single beep my monitor loads the gigabyte screen with the bios and system infomation options but pressing any keys won't change anything. It then loads a black screen with a mouse and blinking underscore for about a half second. Then the UEFI Bios screen partially loads and the system shutsdown and my monitor loses signal. After about 15 seconds this process repeats itself indefinitely until I turn off my system.

My specs:
AMD FX-6200
XFX R9 270X DD
G.Skill trident 16gb 2133mhz
900w raidmax vampire

I noticed on ram it says to downgrade to 2000 MGHTZ  Might try different ram that is slower or you can reset cmos and see if you can get in bios and load fail safe defaults or lower ram to less than 2000 MGHTZ. Or get ram that is on the approved list as GSkill trident isn't on it at 2133.

downgrade to DDR3 2000 MHz Only Support Per one channel.

3.Support for DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules (Note 2)

I have found using faster ram and trying to go slower with it causes problems.

That CPU only supports up to DDR3-1866. Like autotech said you are trying to run memory that you really can't run on that board.
