Title: GA-Z97X - Gaming 5 with Kingston DDR3-2400 - XMP boot failure
Post by: n1m on December 09, 2014, 01:02:37 pm
Hi !

I just bought a

GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 with
32GB Kingston XMP beast DDR3-2400 memory (HX324C11T3K4/32)

and have by default only 1600 Mhz memory frequency.

When I try to use the Extreme Memor Profile (XMP) to Profile 1 = Multiplier 24.00 for 2400 Mhz

I always get a boot failure during POST.

I read before that this board supports 2400 Mhz and 32 GB Ram. So what is my fault?

Bios vers. F5
Bios date: 05/30/2014
Bios id: 8A06AG0E

Pls help !

Thanks in advance !

Update:
I can manually raise the System Memory Multiplier from 16.00 -> 22.00 (2200 Mhz), which seems to work.
However, when I rise the multiplier to 24.00 (2400 Mhz), boot failure on POST.

Pls help !
