Title: Question about 990XA-UD3
Post by: dejan_ibanez on December 24, 2014, 07:01:05 am
Hi, i bought new 990XA-UD3 rev. 3. It has FD bios, I can't change the NB VID setting which is at deault 1.1. I put it on 1.15, when boot into Windows aida64 says it is 1.1. I can only change it with AMD Overdrive. I need this setting to work for overclocking stabillity. Also the latest beta bios FEH doesn't change my CPU multipler. Same thing, I change it, it stays default.

My CPU Phenom 2 955 BE, 4 Gb DDR3 Kingston Hyperx Fury 1866, single-channel
Anyway i can't seem to go above 4.3 GHz on cpu, and it is due to FSB instabillity because NB vid is default, and I can't change it.
Also, only core 0 is overclocked, hwinfo and k10stat reports that core0 runs un 4.3 GHz, core 1,2,3 runs at stock speed 3.2 GHz idle or under load. Why is that?

did you turn off all the power saving features in bios? You also might want to disable LLC calibration.

yes, every time I shut down my computer and turn it ON core0 is OC'd 4.2, other cores run at stock 3.2 speed. Then I have to restart and then all cores are at 4.2, only on restart.
