When the system boots it shows the Logo. the moment I press any key it gets stuck. I have tried usb and PS2 keyboards.
I have removed all peripherals on the board. I just cannot get into the bios.
I used a bootable flash with F11 bios update on it. when I booted it started from the Flash and looked like it was writing the new bios.
I also tried the PSU trick whereby I keep the front button in and then start the PSU from the switch at the back. It seemed to have done something. the original bios was written back. However, I was still not able to enter the bios after I rebooted and the PC just hangs after any key press.
Please can anyone assist. I would like to get this board going for my son to use as a spare PC.

did you unplug PSU and remove battery for 5 minutes. It works sometimes. Otherwise start it with CPU and 1 stick memory only no hard drive and see if you can get into bios that way.

I have done that, but I did not remove the battery for 5 minutes. I actually shorted the battery pins with the PSU unplugged. This made no difference to the problem. still cant get into the bios. Also tried with nothing else connected to the motherboard except the 1 RAM stick. Still no luck.
any other ideas. the board boots into windows if I don't do any key presses during post. With any key press it will hang on the current screen.

I had that happen before but I had to leave the battery out and PSU unplugged overnight. Not saying it will help you but worth a try.

ok, thanks will give it a try.

I know people don't really think of this but do you still the mouse connected? Try it with only the Ps2 keyboard. What I think is happening is there is something connected that the board it doesn't like.
I have had that happen with memory it didn't like and hard drives. Do you have the USB & Audio cables connected to the board? Have you tried the board outside the case to make sure it is shorting out on something?

i have tried everything, nothing connected, just the one memory card in the white slot. It boots fine into windows but if i press a key during post it hangs. I have now tried to re-install the OS, but am unable to as i cannot press a key on the keyboard. I tried with PS2 keyboard as well. If i make a bootable USB with the latest BIOS and unplug the HDD it loads from the USB and starts flashing the BIOS. however, the moment i plug the HDD back in, it boots straight into windows. I cannot press F12 to get into the boot options menu.
This is really frustrating.
If anyone has a solution for it will be much appreciated.
