After a large number of problems apparently related to my MoBo Northbridge, i decided to swap it for a new MoBo. What do you suggest with my CPU and GPU? I would like something PCI-E 3.0 compatible, and suitable for gaming.

Thanks!

GA-78LMT-S2P doesn't support CPUs with a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of more than 95 watts. The FX-6350 has a TDP of 125 watts and is not supported.

AMD AM3+ motherboards are compatible with the latest PCI Express 3.0 video cards. However, all PCI Express slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.

Another Micro ATX Form Factor; 24.4cm x 24.4cm motherboard, the GA-78LMT-USB3 has 4+1 Phase Power design for AMD 125W CPU support.

My video card has a PCI-E 3.0 standard; unfortunately my MoBo doesn't (another reason for changing it).
So, what specs should I look for a new Mobo (budget: 100-170$) considering that this Pc is mainly for a gaming purpose?
Thanks!

The FX-6350 Vishera 6-Core is not supported on the GA-78LMT-S2P because its Thermal Design Power is too high.

The Thermal Design Power (TDP) is the average maximum power a processor can dissipate while running commercially available software. TDP is primarily used as a guideline for manufacturers of thermal solutions (heatsinks/fans, etc) which tells them how much heat their solution should dissipate.

For specifications, maybe you should start with Form Factor.  GA-78LMT-S2P is Micro ATX Form Factor. You could get  an ATX Form Factor size for 100-170$.

Hi,
I'm afraid I'm not explaining myself correctly :)
I was wondering if you could suggest me a specific MoBo (i.e. Gigabyte GA-UDX etc.) which has:
- PCI-E 3.0 compatibility
- compatibility with my AMD CPU and my ATI Video Card

p.s. happy new year to everyone here in the forum! ;)

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
I checked this boards out but unfortunately none of them has PCI-e 3.0 compatibility.
Do you know others with that compatibility?
Thanks!

I cant find a pcie3.0 AM3+ motherboard they are all pcie2.0.   Old board, since AMD went to the FM2+ boards they support pcie3.0
