Hi, I have just finished building my new PC based on the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK (ver.1.0, BIOS F6). Successfully installed Win7 on Plextor PX-G256M6E SSD M.2 256GB. Than I installed HDD, connecting it into SATA3 of Intel Z97. Firstly I found BIOS loading much longer, than without HDD, and HDD was not detected in BIOS (and surely not in system). Than I connected HDD to SATA3 of Marvell. And it was successfully immediately detected. ThAN, i installed SSD Crucial M550 2.5 and connected it into the same SATA3 of Intel Z97, and it was successfully immediately detected.
Please help to understand a problem and give a possible solution. Since there are 4 SATA3 available on Intel Z97 with M.2 occupied by Plextor, I want to have to be installed 2 HDD, 1 SSD Crucial and DVD in it andalso other 2 HDD in Marvell.
Thank's in advance
Bjorn

When booting with a SSD it is very fast. Now you add a 500 hard drive so boot will be slower as bios has to check both Hard drives before booting and the more Hard drives you install the longer the boot process will take.
I use a 240 gig SSD. by itself it booted in 12 seconds then I added a back up drive of 500 gigs now my boot went to 18 seconds. I added a 2T drive for movie and video back ups now my boot time went to 45 seconds. I disconnected the 2T drive and went back to 18 seconds. So now I leave it disconnected until I actually need it to keep my boot times lower.

OK, but when I add HDD into SATA 3 of INTEL, bios does not detect it !!! This is a problem! And when I connect the same HDD into SATA 3 of Marvell - detect without problems. You can say, that my INTEL SATA 3 are faulty, but no - I can connect there another SSD Crucial M550 and DVD. Problem is, that Intel SATA 3 0/1/2/3 does not detect HDDs, while successfully detects SSD Crucial M550 and DVD.....
