Title: GA-945GCM-S2L - which VGA should I get?
Post by: kazek86 on February 04, 2015, 09:33:10 am
Hi there,

My motherboard is GA-945GCM-S2L, I used to have GeForce 8500 GT but after 8 years it has finally stopped working.

I would like to replace it with some other decent card (at the moment I am using the integrated one). I am not much of a gamer and I don't want to spend too much on a card but I like to play some MOBA from time to time so I would like a card which is good enough for LoL and DotA.

Can someone recommend me a card which would be suitable for this set?

MOBO: GA-945GCM-S2L
PSU: 450W Corsair VS
CPU: E2180 @ 2.00GHz
RAM: 2x KVR667D2N5/2G

Thank you in advance!

If you could find a hd2600 it would work. The problem is your motherboard is so old the newer cards probably wont work good if at all. Stay in the 200 series or maybe even the 300 series but no higher. Or you could go to the 9800 NVidia series.

You can try a lower end newer card but you are taking a chance.  I almost bet any 4000 series card would work for you. If your PSU is also old that could cause problems also.
