Title: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H
Post by: diosadentro on February 07, 2015, 12:21:39 am
Hi everyone!

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H with an i5 in it. I have 32GB of DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 Ram. 4x8 sticks.

I can get 16gb running in DDR3 slots 1 and 3 fine. However, when I put the other 16GB in slots 2 and 4 I get a C0 error and a very annoying beeping. I upgraded the bios to F8 hoping that would fix the problem, unfortunately not.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong or if I have a defective motherboard?

Thanks!

What happens if you just use slots 2 and 4 without any ram in 1 and 3? Is it the same or do you get the same error.

So sorry. Misread your post. New reply: Memory in only slots 2 and 4 with nothing in 1 and 3 results in the same error.

So just to make sure I am reading your post right if you only put memory in slots 2 and 4 you get nothing. Slots 1 and 3 are empty.  The computer will only boot if memory is in slots 1 and 3 right?

Correct. I actually just figured it out so I'll post what I did to fix it here for anyone else mindlessly searching google. I found some mention online that it could be a CPU issue. I reseated the CPU and reset the bios. Windows is now registering 32GB of ram!

Thanks!
