Title: Help with GIGABYTE GA-F2A88X-D3H and Athlon x4 860k

Hi All,

 I have a few questions regarding the Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H. I am interested in the using this board with the Athlon x4 860k but I am unsure if it will post with this boards shipped bios.

 Does anybody know if i will have to update the bios prior to using the x4 860k?

Yes you need the F5 bios and this from the Gigabyte site - AMD Athlon X4 860K F5. So if are buying it from somebody see if they will make sure it has that bios version. More likely it doesn't.

I have a gigabyte Intel board that I got the other day that did boot. I was able to upgrade to the right bios for that CPU. It wouldn't boot with two stick of memory but it did boot with one stick. I feel that I got lucky on that one.

There is really no way to tell what bios is on the board without booting sorry.
