Title: [Gigabyte ep45c-UD3R] - DDR3-2000 Dual Channel issues
Post by: petekw on March 22, 2010, 06:19:08 pm
Hi all,

Hi, I bought some new RAM for my system to improve performance.  I had been using DDR2-800, and my new RAM is DDR3-2000. I am having some issues getting it to work with both sticks installed.  I have been keeping track of my experiments as I go so I can identify trends.  Note that tests 6 and 7 show that the board can handle 500Mhz FSB for single-channel DDR3-2000.  Both sticks test fine independently in this way.  When I try to put them both in at 800/1000 Mhz they fial prety quick in MemTest86+.  It seems to fail as sson as the chunk of RAM being tested jumps to 2049-xxXxMB.

For now I am running the sticks in Dual Channel at 667 MHz and that seems stable.

I was thinking about trying to update the BIOS...thoughts?
