Title: will the Gigabyte Z97P-D3 work with a G3258 cpu out of the box ? BIOS f1
Post by: c64ocuk on March 27, 2015, 11:34:02 am
As title am going to get this board today have an intel pentium k g3258 cpu but on the compatibility list it says the board needs the updated F5 bios to run this cpu ?

Will an F1 bios version of the board which I presume they all ship with support the cpu ie boot up etc but just require the F5 bios update to be fully functional ? So i'll be able to boot with the cpu and flash to F5 bios ?

I had the same problem with a board and that CPU. This is the board Gigabyte H81M-H & CPU G3258. It wouldn't boot with two sticks of memory. But it did boot with one stick so you could try that. I was able to flash the bios. Once that was done everything was fine.
