Title: GA-P55-USB3 Re-boot No Display
Post by: Diastole on March 23, 2010, 05:24:23 am
I can't figure this out - so I'm asking for suggestions - any help is appreciated.
I built a machine serveral months ago for she-who-must-be-obyed (aka WIFE)
From time to time after an upgrade/ update / re-boot cycle the machine will NOT display any video.
Turn it off - go to bed - get up - go to work - come home - turn on - all is "working"

On those -rare- occasions when the whole - got to bed ... come home cycle is not practial its a real pain in the a**

Thanks for your time.

Try rebooting in safe mode to see the problem applys there aswell , will be easier to rectify the problem :)

This way you will be able to see if its a hardware problem

goto devive manager and 1 by1  disable  display adapters/sound/vide controllers then reboot in safe mode

boot in safe mode if the problem is still there then its definatly a software problem

Thanks for the suggestion. :)
Next time it happens I'll try the safe mode, and I'll review the device mgr settings.
BTW  - This morning - power up and all is well. Sigh.

Still having problem. What I've observed is the longer the machine is on the greater the chance that it won't re-boot/restart with out hours of being off.

Last night I was doing updates to the Motherboard - Just in case those were contributing factors - had to re-boot several times - all was ok, went to re-boot and - "NO SIGNAL" is what displays on the monitor.

I'm thinking maybe heat issue?
