Title: Z97X-SOC USB I/O power
Post by: Hun74rd on June 11, 2015, 11:40:22 am
I've just built my first PC with the Z97X-SOC. Everything seems to be running smoothly, however when I connect my mouse and keyboard to the rear I/O, windows keeps disconnecting then reconnecting my keyboard.

It's a Max Keyboard Blackbird with two USB 2.0 feedthroughs and backlights. It's perfectly stable when using the front I/O on the case and is also stable when I turn off the keyboard backlights.

Therefore I think its a power problem with the motherboards rear I/O.

Does anyone have an explanation or solution to this?

Thanks.

Max recommends using a USB hub with external power supply.
