Title: GA-X99-Gaming G1 and Intel 750 SSD SFF-8639 (NOT PCIE)
Post by: tlgga on July 07, 2015, 01:16:52 am
Hi All,

Been searching all over the web to figure out if i can make the INTEL 750 SFF-8639 SSD to work on GA-X99-Gaming G1.  Intel provides SFF-8639 to SFF-8643 (mini SAS) cable but GA-X99-GAMING G1 does not have a SFF-8643 connector.  ASUS and MSI both have a M.2 to SFF-8643 adapter for their motherboards, is Gigabyte planning to do something like this?  Asus calls their adapter (HYPER KIT) and MSI calls their adapter (M.2 TO TURBO MINI-SAS Add-in card).  i tried the ASUS HYPER KIT on my GA-X99-GAMING G1 but it doest work.

Is their a SATA EXPRESS to SFF-8639 cable out there?
or
is there another brilliant solution out there that i can use?  (btw, PCIE addon card is out of the question)

Thanks in advance.
