Title: Will it boot ?
Post by: fahri17 on July 19, 2015, 11:45:25 pm
I am planning to buy AMD FX-9590 CPU with Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 (rev. 4.0) which comes with bios version F1.
When I check the CPU Support list http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4672# (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4672#) it says Since BIOS Version F3 for the FX-9590. Will it boot with bios version of F1 ?

It might and it might not. I have read way people got them to work. But I'm not saying 100% sure it will work. I have some Intel's that didn't have the right bios and work. But with only using one stick of memory to update the bios. If I put in two sticks it wouldn't boot.

You likely can boot into bios Q-flash (end key) and update from there - just have the new bios on an usb stick to load from.
