Title: Voltage problems with z97p-d3
Post by: Tadicus on October 17, 2015, 11:14:22 pm
Has anybody encountered a problem with front power led using z97p d3 motherbord? My power LED was working fine for 1 and a half month since i built it until today. Now at most times it is dim and sometimes it flickers/blinks, I am worried that my motherboard might be faulty and does not supply enough voltage and can affect performance. I checked voltage through gigabyte utilities (easytune) and the voltages seem fine. I don't think the problem is caused by PSU. Is it possible that it is just the LED dying, I had the system for only one and a half month. I noticed when i do something intensive that uses a lot of hard drive the LED becomes brighter and blinks.

If the LED is flickering, then you should probably confirm that you do indeed have the LED connected to the correct PWR_LED Pins on the header on not HDD.

The voltage on these pins/header is next to nothing to start with.  I'd confirm before assuming the board is faulty.

The problem was caused by bad LED wires.
