I have the above motherboard in a test machine. I have bios F7 at this time with a 4790k I7. Using the onboard graphics. I notice on bios F8 it states 1.Supports Intel® 5th Generation Core™ Processor
2.This BIOS prohibits updating to earlier version BIOS
then on F9 it states
1.Better system compatibility for Intel® 5th Generation Core™ Processors.
My question is should I update the bios with this CPU I am using. at this time it runs fine for testing but every once in a while it gets jittery if you know what I mean. Mouse will lag or jump around when I move it. It doesn't happen a lot but wondering if this bios update would help with that problem. It doesn't happen if I install my R9 280x in it but I would like to keep my card in my gigabyte Z170X-UD5 and my 6970 card is in my gigabyte SOC FORCE board with an 4690K I5 in it. so what do you think.

If it will fix the problem or some of the problems. That will be a chance you will have to take. One other thing is once you update, there is no going back to a older version.
Plus if the board is just for testing what the hell give it a try. The update is for support of 5th gen CPU but it will still run the one you have.
F9 - Better system compatibility for Intel® 5th Generation Core™ Processors
F8 - Supports Intel® 5th Generation Core™ Processor - This BIOS prohibits updating to earlier version BIOS
They made a 5th gen CPU that is like when you go to Walmart and buy a brand name or buy Walmart brand.

Thank You.
