Title: Ram Running at 1333 instead of 1600
Post by: Felboy on October 25, 2015, 10:49:46 pm
Hey PLease help

I Put my Pc together a few months ago and noticed the other day that in the Bios it says my Ram is running at 1333 instead of 1600.  My Specs are:

Mobo:  Gigabyte 990fxa-UD3 (rev1.2)
CPU:  FX6300 With Corsair H60
Ram:  16gb of Corsair vengance 1600mhz 4x4 (only running at 1333mhz)
GPU:  EVGA GTX970 FTW
HDD:  2x 1tb WD blue
SSD:  Samsung Evo 250gb
PSU:  750w XFX pro

I Dont have much of a clue in the bios so please help me.  I have heard that this mobo has all ram set to 133mhz as default and consideres anything higher as an overclock.  i have tried to set it manually but putting MHZ to 1600 and slightly uping the volts (which i have no clue about).  when i reset the pc a message came up saying somthing along the lines of being unstable and it reverts back to default.

Can you please help as i have no idea how to fix it.
Thanks for your help

Regards
Felipe

using all 4 ram slots is the problem - use 2x8 and it should run at 1600
