Title: Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming G1 & HGST Ultrastar He8 8TB hard drive - only seeing 2 TB
Post by: tangosdad on November 21, 2015, 04:10:52 am
I have a Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming G1 with a HGST Ultrastar He8 8TB hard drive. Honestly first time I have ever worked with a hard drive over 1 TB.

So... how do I get my system (with Windows 10) to recognize more than 2 TB of this drive?

Thanks!

Are you formatting GPT?

Options are to format with multiple partitions <2.2TB or format GPT.  Recommend using diskpart command line utility

This should help:
