Hi,
I have AMD fx 9370 with Corsair Hi110Gi on GA-990FXA-UD3 (rev 4.0). Unfortunately, sometimes the cpu gets really hot (without particularly large load) and the cooler's sound is disturbing. Having a look here (http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?v=AE72F6F9D4ADD0D7966358D2051BEDCC6EDF62CF9577D6190C981FB191168E4E&s=Socket%20AM3+&cs=AMD%20990FX) I saw that it needs BIOS version F3, while according to CPU-Z mine is F2.

Could that potentially fix the problem? If yes, should I press OK on the following message (see attachment)? (How likely is it that the update will fail, and is there a way of recovery?)

Hi there,

Yes, updating to the F3 BIOS may well help but, personally, I wouldn't use the @BIOS utility to update BIOS as I believe the QFlash utility to be safer.

Sorry about the missing images, but hopefully there is enough information in the thread for you to be able to use QFlash OK.

I recently upgraded mine from F2 to F3 using that utility and it worked fine. You can backup the current bios, but I'd make sure you put it on a USB key rather than just leave it on your desktop as I did - if the update had gone wrong how would I have retrieved the old BIOS?!
