Title: Z87X-UD3H and Broadwell
Post by: MBrown551 on February 13, 2016, 03:55:58 pm
Hi.  I am new to this forum.  I just had a quick question.

For the Z87X-UD3H, the lastest bios (F9) doesn't seem to have broadwell support at least from the documentation from Gigabyte.  The latest support was for the haswell refresh, devil's canyon.  To be sure though, I wanted to see if anyone has tried running a broadwell chip on this particular board with the latest bios.  Maybe the documentation wasn't updated?

BTW I know folks are going to say just get a 4790k.  I know that it will OC better etc., but I am just curious.

Thanks

The Intel Broadwell platform is compatible only with the 9-Series (Z97 and H97) chipset and Intel's 100-series chipset motherboards.

With Intel Broadwell, your motherboard should be compatible with the new power supply ratings, ones which would only be available on the 9-Series chipset or later chipset boards. For Intel Broadwell, users require V_PROC_IO connection with a 1.05V power source, VCCST Power supply and a new THRMTRIP output buffer.
