Title: ga-z170n gaming 5 nvme config blank in bios

i'm using Samsung 950 pro as boot drive when i enter bios under peripherals the NVMe configuration section is completely blank i have Samsung driver installed but still no luck. is this normal? Also I was expecting faster boot times using m.2 ssd as boot drive but in fact they are very slow any help is appreciated

How did you install windows? Did you just load it. You have to setup the bios to boot from a UEFI DVD or A UEFI USB. You have to have the windows disk in or the windows USB drive plug in. So the bios will see the OS. Plus one other thing is if you are installing windows 10 make sure you change the option from other OS to windows 8/10.

Yes I just loaded windows 10. I will format and do a clean install. What bios settings should I be changing. CSM etc?

Don't worry about the CSM just set it up using the UEFI dvd or USB. Set the other OS to windows 8/10 and one other thing is have it set AHCI for the sata controller too.

Did as you said still the same outcome cannot see Samsung 950 pro in bios under nvme config. m.2 also does not show in intel rapid storage is it supposed to? sorry for the questions this is my first m.2 setup
