Evening all
I'm at a total loss for what to do here, and hoped to turn here for some help.
I have the Z170x-Gaming and the GSkill F4-320016D-16GVK ram (which is on the compatibility list). I have 4 8-gig sticks.
I have to put one stick in the far-right (as you look directly at the motherboard face on) red-coloured slot for it to post at all. Placing it anywhere else gives me a 55 and it won't post.
If I place ANY sticks, regardless of whether one is in the far right red slot, in the black slots, it won't post at all.
I can put a 2nd stick in the other red slot, but both BIOS and Windows only see 8 gigs of ram installed, not 16.
I've tried a few things like turning the speed down, but maybe I did it wrong? Did anyone else have this issue?
I would be incredibly grateful for any suggestions!
Cheers all

Have you look at your CPU socket for bent pins. Plus have you tried 2133 memory. We seen a lot of the boards have problems with faster memory. Have you updated the bios? People have used the 2133 memory to get things going than put in the 3200.

Thanks for the reply. Cpu looks fine, I see no signs of bending anywhere.
I ordered some 2133 to try, but not yet. I am updated to the f7 beta bios. I tried the f6 as well, same problem.
If you can get it going with 2133, how do you eventually transition to faster ram and get it to work? I can post and run fine with 1 8 gig stick, it's when try to add more that the problem begin. Even if I have 2 sticks in the red slots, it posts, it just doesn't show more then 8 gig recognized. Do I just have a bad board?
Any ideas? Thanks much

There many threads on the memory problems. Here is a couple of them.
