Title: GA X170-EXTREME ECC CPU Compatibility
Post by: RBE on May 25, 2016, 10:23:24 pm
Hi All.

Looking at the list (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5806#dl) of compatible Xeon processors for the aforementioned motherboard, I note that the E3-1245 v5 is supported, yet the E3-1240 v5 is not. Given that the only difference is that the E3-1245 has P530 graphics onboard, is the compatibility chart correct?

Hi All.

I just figured out that I was reading the CPU compatibility chart incorrectly - the 'N/A' that I thought referred to whether a specific CPU was supported or not actually refers to whether the CPU has an integrated GPU or not. My bad.
