Hey Guys,
I have a GA-X79-UD3 and E5-2670v1. However the combo is not booting. It is powering on for a couple of seconds then off 3 times. The board is v1.0 with the default BIOS. I guess I will have to update the bios in order to support the CPU. However I am not sure what CPU I need. Which one is supported by the default bios.
Any suggestions?

You need to update the bios to F16 this from the CPU support list from Gigabyte.
Xeon E5-2670 2.60GHz 20MB Sandy Bridge-EP 32nm C2 130w 100 F16
Plus you will have to do it using a USB flash drive. You can't do using Q-Flash because you are going to another bios Version 2.33
(Note) Please update @BIOS to ver.2.33 and be sure to reflash this BIOS through @BIOS ver 2.33.
(Note) To Support IVB-E CPU, the Intel driver must be updated in advanced.
(Note) 3D BIOS will be no longer support after updating this BIOS.
